Biology Class Dissects Owl Pellets

Biology classes are wrapping up the ecology unit as we come to the end of the semester and did so by dissecting owl pellets. Pellets are the undigested parts of the owl's food and can be dissected to see what the owl has consumed. By identifying the bones found inside, we can study the population of owls and what they have eaten. Students usually find rats and mice, but some lucky students will find the remains of a bird!
