Franklin Community Schools is excited to announce that at the April 25 meeting, the school board voted to approve a contract with the Boys & Girls Clubs of Johnson County to manage and deliver Cub Care before and after school programming for Franklin Community Schools (FCS). The Boys & Girls Club has always been a strong and valued partner of FCS, and this new endeavor will benefit both organizations, including your child.
What does this mean for parents?
No price increases: Fees for your student’s daily attendance will remain the same during this one-year contract; the only change will be a slight increase in the registration fee to $25 per child and $40 per family.
No forced staffing changes: The FCS employees who currently work at Cub Care will be invited to join the Boys & Girls Club team.
No changes in buildings: The Boys & Girls Club will continue services for before and after school care for K-6 in the same six buildings: Creekside, Needham, Union, Northwood, Webb, and Custer Baker Intermediate School
No changes in hours: Hours of operation will be the same in the 2022-23 school year as in 2021-22. (6 am - school start time and dismissal until 6 pm)
FCS will be working diligently over the next few months to ensure that this is a smooth transition for both parents and students.
Registration for the 22-23 school year will open this summer! Information will be sent via ParentSquare in late June.
FCS is confident that you will see the value added in creating this important partnership with the Boys & Girls Club. Thanks for your patience as we work through this transition.
