Mask Requirement - EFFECTIVE 1/11/22

Today we received notification that four of our buildings have exceeded a positivity rate of 2%. According to our Franklin Community Schools COVID guidelines, when (4) buildings exceed a positivity rate of 2%, all FCS buildings will require masks indoors, regardless of vaccination status, until (5) buildings have a positivity rate below 1%.

Therefore, effective Tuesday, January 11, 2022, masks will be required inside our buildings during the school day.

The following buildings are above the 2% threshold:

  • Franklin Community High School
  • Franklin Community Middle School
  • Custer Baker Intermediate School
  • Northwood Elementary

Students will continue to wear masks on buses.

Any mask exemptions issued for the 2021-2022 school year are still in place. If you have further questions, please contact Jennifer Scott, 504 Coordinator, at scottj@franklinschools.org.

When five buildings have a positivity rate below 1% and masks become optional again, parents will be notified. This data will be available on the FCS COVID-19 Dashboard and updated daily.

Thank you for your continued partnership during this pandemic.
