2020-2021 Kindergarten Information
Kindergarten registration is now open for the 2020-2021 school year! This registration is for any child that will turn five years old by August 1, 2020. With the closure of schools for the remainder of the 2019-2020 school year, the registration process will be completely online.
** Please note: If you have already completed the hard copy packet, we ask that you still complete the online process. The hard copy packet will be collected when we physically return to school.
Franklin Community Schools proudly offers a full-day Kindergarten experience that meets daily during our regular school hours from 7:40-2:20 each day with the exception of an early release on Wednesdays at 1:40. There is no tuition cost for our Kindergarten, but parents will be expected to pay textbook and supply fees.
To be eligible for enrollment in Franklin Community Schools, students must be five years old on or before August 1, 2020.
Please contact your building principal for the early appeals process if you are interested in enrolling a student who does not meet the minimum age requirement.
We have provided a resource for families to use if you are curious as to what the readiness guidelines for entering kindergarten are. We know that each child will come to FCS with different areas of strength, and each school will work to build on those strengths. Please review the kindergarten readiness guidelines to gauge your child's readiness for Kindergarten.
For now, FCS is only requiring the demographic information on the registration link to be filled out. Once school resumes, your child's school will ask for the following documents to be submitted.
- Birth Certificate
- Shot Records
- Home Language Survey
- Health and immunization - kindergarten, completed by your doctor
