Andrea Korreck Named Principal at Northwood Elementary

Franklin Community Schools would like to announce that Andrea Korreck has been named the next principal at Northwood Elementary. The recommendation was approved by the FCS School Board of Trustees at the March meeting.

Korreck was an elementary teacher for 9 years. She served one year as an elementary principal in New Castle before spending the last 15 years as a principal in Perry Township.  She earned a bachelor’s degree from Ball State University and a master’s degree from Butler University.

Korreck is currently the president of the Indiana Association of School Principals (IASP) and served on the Indiana Department of Education’s ESSA Committee for Supporting All Students.

“I am excited to welcome Andrea to Franklin Community Schools,” Dr. David Clendening, Superintendent said. “Her strong background in education and her experience leading Title I schools and diverse populations will be a great asset, not only to Northwood but also the district.”

Korreck has been a resident of Johnson County for over 25 years.

“Franklin is a growing and thriving community, and it is an honor to be coming to such an outstanding school corporation.  Having served as an educator for over 25 years, I am thrilled to bring my experience to Franklin,” Andrea Korreck said. “We've always enjoyed the social and retail qualities of Franklin and I'm looking forward to now being a part of the school community. Coming to Franklin Community Schools, especially at Northwood Elementary, already feels like home!”

Korreck will start her new position on July 1, 2019. She replaces Nicci Sargent’s resignation.
