    DAILY ANNOUNCEMENTS (1-17)
     
    • Yearbooks are now on sale! Ordering online is available until February 8th. Prices are $20. Pick up an order form in Guidance or the Main Office.
    • The next Student Council Meeting will be next Tuesday, January 22nd at 7:30am in the FCMS auditorium.  Remember that we do not have school on Monday, Jan. 21st for Martin Luther King Jr Day so our meeting will be on the first day back.
    • Pack the House Night will be Tuesday, January 22nd. The 7th grade boys basketball game will start at 5:30pm and the 8th grade game will start at approximately 6:30pm. Admission for students is $1. Student Council will be giving out free popcorn to all students. At halftime of each game there will be a staff vs student 3 point contest.
    • The 8th Grade Dance will be Friday, February 15th. This year's theme is Hollywood. Pre-sale tickets will go on sale during lunch on Feb. 6th.
    • Calling all female softball players!! Club softball tryouts started this week at the Fieldhouse next to FCMS. The next tryout dates are tonight and on Tuesday the 22nd from 3:45-5. You are required to attend at least 1 full try-out slot. Pick-up a flyer in Guidance if interested.
    • ATTENTION MUSICIANS! The Franklin Symphonic Council sponsors an annual music contest at Franklin Community Middle School. There are seven categories: Brass, Percussion, Woodwind, Vocal, Piano, Strings and Ensembles. Performers will earn Gold, Silver, or Bronze ratings for their performances and there are cash prizes for the top three in each category. First place in each category wins $100.00, second place wins $75.00, and third place wins $50.00. Entry forms should be picked up in the band room, choir room or in the main office. Entry deadline is Friday, February 1ST. Any questions? Ask Mr. Tewell or Ms. Coram in the music area.
    • Last night the 7th grade girls bball ‘A’ team defeated Southport 70-7. Top scorers were Lauren Klem w/ 23 points, Scarlett Kimbrell w/ 22 points, & Josie Rae Phillips w/ 7 assists & 9 steals. Such a good game! Team improves to 3-0 on the season. Awesome job ladies!
