Franklin Community Schools Names Nicci Sargent as Northwood Principal
Franklin Community Schools is excited to announce that Nicci Sargent has been named principal at Northwood Elementary. The FCS School Board of Trustees approved the recommendation at the March 13 board meeting. Sargent is replacing Katie Smith’s transfer to Union Elementary.
Sargent has been employed with Franklin Community Schools since 2004. She has served as a teacher, instructional coach, and most recently, assistant principal at Northwood Elementary. She received a bachelor’s degree from Franklin College, and a master’s degree from Indiana University.
“Nicci continues the strong tradition of finding great leaders from within the organization,” Dr. David Clendening, Superintendent said. “Her passion for learning and helping each student reach his/her fullest potential will create a solid foundation as she embarks on this journey. Nicci's experiences in second language learners, English/language arts, instruction coach, and assistant principal have prepared her for this next step. The Owls of Northwood Elementary will continue to soar under her leadership!”
“I'm so excited about continuing to help lead Northwood. It is a fantastic place where students are loved and love to learn,” Nicci Sargent said. “My own children were Northwood Owls, so my love for the Nest goes deep! The faculty and staff are fantastic and I look forward to working together to grow our students!”
